Redundant Network
Hosting infrastructure is located in two main datacenters that each boast multiple connections to the internet on 10 different tier one backbone providers with 1Gbps or greater uplinks. Should any connection fail the other connections automatically takes over. Backbone providers include UUNet™, Sprint™, Level 3™, Global Crossing™, Verio™, AT&T™, Time Warner™, Allegiance Telecom™, Broadwing™ and Abovenet™.

Network Infrastructure
The network architecture utilises the Enterprise routing and switching engines from Juniper™ and Cisco™. Juniper™ M20 routers are utilized as border routers and Cisco 6500 series switches in the distribution and aggregation layers. Cisco 3500 and 2900 series switches are utilized at the customer layer. The network is fully meshed and redundant with 10 tier one backbone providers.

Power Servers
Netports Australia has built a reputation on providing our hosting clients with uncompromising levels of power and reliability. Currently we use Dell Poweredge™ class servers because of their rock solid reliability, proven track record and blinding speed. All current servers utilised for website hosting are quad Intel™ 2.8 GHz Xeon™ processors with 4 Gig RAM of memory, RAID array hard drives while our reseller hosting is positioned on servers with dual Intel Xeon™ processors with 2 Gig RAM.

Xeon Processors
Intel Xeon™ processors provide the processing power and versatility required to idle through supreme demands without skipping a beat. The combination of the Intel netburst Microarchitecture and HyperThreading™ technology, teamed with larger than usual RAM memory and blazingly fast RAID array hard drives provides outstanding performance and headroom for tough workloads, resulting in some of the fastest response times of any mainstream server.

Red Hat Linux Enterprise
We exclusively use Redhat Enterprise Linux™ operating systems. Linux™ is one of the most popular server operating systems in the industry today due to it's scalability and proven track record as the most stable operating system available for webserver application. We are in good company with our choice of operating system, for instance Google™ use Linux™ power every one of its 15,000+ search engine webservers as does many of the most powerful internet based commercial identities.

Cisco Switches
We use Cisco™ switches that support advanced features such as IP Routing, QoS, Granular Rate Limiting, Security Access Control Lists (ACLs) and Multicast Management to insure network operations. Since the company's inception, Cisco™ have been the leaders in the development of Internet Protocol (IP) networking technologies.

Juniper Routers
We use Juniper™ routers that forward packets at a throughput of 20Gbps. Juniper™ delivers networking solutions that support the world's most demanding mission-critical networks, including the world's top 25 service providers and 8 of the top 15 Fortune 500 companies.
